Greetings from The Aero Experience Team

Greetings!

The Aero Experience is a celebration of Midwest aviation and aerospace achievement. We invite you to join us as we explore the treasures of Midwest aviation through first-hand experiences. Our contributors take turns flying lead, and we are always looking for new destinations. Check in with The Aero Experience frequently to see where we will land today, and then go out and have your own aero experiences!

Blue skies,

139TH Airlift Wing of the Missouri Air National Guard Receives ICAS Community Relations Award

The 139TH Airlift Wing of the Missouri Air National Guard, based in St. Joseph, Missouri, was recognized as the 2010 recipient of the Dick Schram Memorial Community Relations Award during the annual ICAS Convention in Las Vegas.

Although their 2010 event was the 139TH's first open house in four years, the air show was singled out for the unique manner in which civilian airport officials, local government representatives and community philanthropic organizations were involved with every aspect of planning and execution of the Sound of Speed Air Show and Open House, as well as the contributions made by the show to local philanthropies. The result was an air show and open house that embodied the ideals and philosophy represented by the Dick Schram Memorial Community Relations Award.
