Greetings from The Aero Experience Team

The Aero Experience is a celebration of Midwest aviation and aerospace achievement. We invite you to join us as we explore the treasures of Midwest aviation through first-hand experiences. Our contributors take turns flying lead, and we are always looking for new destinations. Check in with The Aero Experience frequently to see where we will land today, and then go out and have your own aero experiences!

Missouri Aviation Historical Society Meeting August 30 Will Feature Guadalcanal Veteran

Missouri Aviation Historical Society Meeting on August 30

The Missouri Aviation Historical Society is a group of folks with a love of aircraft, and we are striving to locate and document the rich aviation history that has been a part of the great state of Missouri for the past century. From Benoist to Zenith, the aviation industry in the "Show Me" state has always been at the forefront of technology, and has created some of the world’s best known aircraft. Famous pilots, from Jimmy Doolittle, to Slim Lindbergh, all called Missouri home for a portion of their lives, and made significant contributions to the advancement of aviation.
Please plan to join us, on Thursday, August 30th at our new west county meeting location at Creve Coeur Airport. Kirkwood veteran Tom Mohan, who was a gunner with the "Red Devils" of VMSB-232, will take us back to the early days of WWII, on Henderson Field, Guadalcanal, and give us his view from the back seat of a Douglas SBD-3 Dauntless. The meeting starts at 7 PM, admission is free, and refreshments will be served. For driving directions please visit the Creve Coeur Airport website at:  We will be meeting in the hangar which adjoins the airport terminal. If you have any questions please let me know. Hope to see you there! Dan O’Hara President Missouri Aviation Historical Society 573-529-2539
