Greetings from The Aero Experience Team

The Aero Experience is a celebration of Midwest aviation and aerospace achievement. We invite you to join us as we explore the treasures of Midwest aviation through first-hand experiences. Our contributors take turns flying lead, and we are always looking for new destinations. Check in with The Aero Experience frequently to see where we will land today, and then go out and have your own aero experiences!

Light Sport Aircraft Is a Great Choice for Midwest Aviation

The Light Sport category of aircraft is a great choice for modern aviators who are looking for a one-two seat aircraft giving good performance at a reasonable cost.  Also, pilots who do not qualify for third-class medical certificate of the private pilot license may apply for Sport Pilot Certificate under certain conditions.  Light Sport aircraft are appearing more often at Midwest airports and flight schools, and some like this Cessna Skycatcher came to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2012.

A Cessna Skycatcher Light Sport Aircraft is available for rent or as part of a flight instruction program in the St. Louis area at Air Associates of Missouri, located on the north ramp of Spirit of St. Louis Airport.  Its performance is impressive: 116 knot cruise speed, 880fpm climb rate, 350 mile range and 6gph fuel consumption.  Contact Air Associates of Missouri today to reserve your Discovery Flight, flight lesson or rental hour in the Skycatcher.  Here are some views of the sharpest Skycatcher in the Midwest:
