Greetings from The Aero Experience Team

Greetings!

The Aero Experience is a celebration of Midwest aviation and aerospace achievement. We invite you to join us as we explore the treasures of Midwest aviation through first-hand experiences. Our contributors take turns flying lead, and we are always looking for new destinations. Check in with The Aero Experience frequently to see where we will land today, and then go out and have your own aero experiences!

Blue skies,

Midwest Airport Fun Days 2015: Sponsor a Veteran for a Flight on the MO Commemorative Air Force B-25 "Show Me" May 29-31

By Carmelo Turdo
http://www.airandspacemuseum.org/fun-days.phpMidwest Airport Fun Days, Saint Louis' aviation event of the season, will commemorate the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II with a salute the veterans and the aircraft that won the war.  Our friends at the Missouri Commemorative Air Force Wing will be part of the festivities, and their B-25 Mitchell medium bomber, "Show Me," will be one of the main attractions.

Midwest Airport Fun Days will provide an opportunity for members of our community to participate in the recognition of veterans from the St. Louis and Metro East IL area through the Sponsor a Veteran Flight program:

A business or individual nominates a veteran from the WWII era (or other veteran of choice) and provides the donation for the flight ($400/veteran);     OR

A business or individual may also provide the donation for the flight ($400/veteran) and request that Midwest Airport Fun Days refer a veteran.  In both cases, the donation of the sponsorship is tax-deductible.

Sponsor Rewards:

The sponsorship of a veteran to fly in the World War II-era B-25 carries with it rewards that will last a lifetime.  The greatest rewards are the reactions from the veterans.  Some veterans will experience flight in these magnificent aircraft for the first time, having served in another branch of the military during World War II or having served in later conflicts.  Other veterans may be returning to the aircraft for the first time since their youth, when it was a weapon of war, with their grandchildren along to see them off.  Providing the opportunity for a veteran to fly is an honor and privilege in itself, but we've added a few more incentives to attract more area sponsors to join the program:

Each sponsor will be recognized at a public ceremony before the scheduled flight and present a sponsored flight certificate to the veteran;

Each sponsor will be recognized on the Midwest Airport Fun Days web page and in promotional media before, during and after the event;

Each sponsor will receive a certificate of appreciation from Midwest Airport Fun Days.

Along with the single veteran flight sponsorships, a full-flight sponsorship of five is also available.  Those sponsors that provide a donation of $2,000 for five seats in the aircraft (five veterans or mix of veterans and sponsor riders) will receive the benefits mentioned above PLUS a private session with the B-25 crew touring the aircraft and cockpit prior to the flight.  Will YOU step up and provide a full flight of veterans named for you or your company?

Midwest Airport Fun Days is proud to offer this opportunity for the community to rally behind our veterans and say a collective "THANK YOU"  for their sacrifices on our behalf.  Please join us to help our veterans get this flight experience and support the Missouri Commemorative Air Force as they work to keep these World War II-era aircraft flying for another generation to enjoy.  For information on how you can sponsor a veteran, please contact FunDays@airandspacemuseum.org
