EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2016: Tour of the Grounds In Classic Bell 47

Fred Harl and Carmelo Turdo
http://www.airassociatesmo.com/tae/One of the iconic images of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh is the constant orbiting of classic Bell 47 helicopters, sometimes three or more at a time, over the western portion of Wittman Regional airport behind the crowd line.  These flights, taken on Tuesday and Wednesday, show the enormous camping area, Warbirds parking and the rotation of aircraft on display in Boeing Centennial Plaza.  The flights are based at Pioneer Airport, across from the EAA Museum complex.  The highlights of the two flights are illustrated here.

EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2016: Around the Grounds

Fred Harl and Carmelo Turdo
http://www.airassociatesmo.com/tae/The Aero Experience continues our signature year-round coverage of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2016, sponsored by Air Associates, with another look around the airport grounds as we prepare next month's series on the many exhibitors we visited.  Featured here are the more prominent sites, including the main gate, control tower, Brown Arch and the dedication of the Ron Scott Communications Center.  Also conspicuous around the grounds are the VW Beetles driven by EAA staff, the "Scooter Guys" who guide the aircraft watch the airshow line and an occasional sea gull looking for scraps at the A&W food stands.  We hope you have enjoyed our coverage so far and will check back for our coverage of the exhibitors in January.
