AOPA High School Flight Training Scholarships Now Available!

Please share this opportunity with eligible students
who are passionate about flying.
Twenty teens will get closer to their dream of earning their wings thanks to AOPA's You Can Fly High School Flight Training scholarship program. This year, AOPA will award 20 scholarships, at $5,000 each, to deserving high school students who are truly passionate about pursuing a pilot's certificate.

The online scholarship application asks students to describe their interest in aviation as well as how they have "demonstrated responsibility, leadership and good decision making."

Scholarship applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Current high school student, 15-18 years old
  • U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident
  • Parent or guardian approval (under 18 years of age)
  • Not have completed a sport, recreational, glider or private certificate at the time of application
  • Minimum GPA of 2.75
  • Complete solo flight or achieve pilot certificate within one year of receiving the scholarship
