Special "Huey" Helicopter Makes Stop at Farmington Regional Airport
|
By Fred Harl |
A very special Vietnam-era "Huey" helicopter made a fuel stop at Farmington Regional Airport recently - Bell UH-1H s/n 70-16369 - from the American Huey 369 Organization. This 501(c)3 non-profit group has lofty ambitions, namely to preserve the history of the Bell "Huey" helicopter through the establishment of The National American Huey History Museum. Currently, the group meets at the Montgomery Aviation FBO Hangar 11 at the Grissom Aeroplex in Peru, Indiana. Two airworthy helicopters participate in patriotic events around the country, and may be coming to an aviation event near you.
