EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2012: Heritage Flight With A-10 and P-38
|
By Fred Harl |
The Heritage Flight, a favorite of airshow crowds since the 50th anniversary of the USAF in 1997, featured a popular pair of fork-tailed aircraft - the A-10 and P-38 Lightning. The A-10C from the A-10 West Demo Team joined P-38 "Glacier Girl" for a series of passes in close formation. This is a site that may not be seen again this year at any airshow, so let's enjoy these views from last year. Maybe a replacement for the Heritage Flight (and Legacy Flight from the USN) could be a warbird and aerobatic aircraft pair, such as a Stearman and Pitts, or Mustang and Extra? Think about it...
