American Waco Club Fly-In Takes Off at Creve Coeur Airport

By Carmelo Turdo
The American Waco Club Fly-In has begun in earnest, with Wacos and other antique aircraft gathering at Creve Coeur Airport in St. Louis County.  Waco aircraft trace their vintage to the 1919-1947 period, and were manufactured in Troy, Ohio under the banner of Weaver Aircraft Company, Advance Aircraft Company and eventually Waco Aircraft Company by the late 1920s.  Arrivals and orientation flights around the airport were conducted Thursday and Friday, and a fly-out to Aero Estates Airport before the club meeting is planned for Saturday.  The Aero Experience team was on hand at Creve Coeur Airport to capture the activity, and a series of reports will follow.  For now, here is a survey of what we saw today:

Special thanks to the pilots who flew the aircraft in this feature - they were very helpful and tolerant of us as we recorded their flying activities today!
