Greater St. Louis Air & Space Museum Summer Fly-In Next Weekend

By Carmelo Turdo
The Greater St. Louis Air & Space Museum will hold its summer fly-in June 15 at historic Curtiss-Wright Hangar 2, St. Louis Downtown Airport.  The event will feature special exhibits at the museum, including a restored F-4 Phantom II cockpit,  F-4 cockpit simulator, working 1940s Link Trainers, recently restored McDonnell Aircraft factory electric cart once used by company founder James S. McDonnell to drive President John F. Kennedy around the plant, a rare Meyers OTW biplane, and a Lockheed Jetstar once owned by Howard Hughes, among others.  Visiting aircraft and exhibits will include training aircraft from local flight schools, classic aircraft from the early years of aviation and general aviation and light sport aircraft from neighboring communities.  St. Louis Flight Simulator will provide multi-screen flight simulators, and St. Louis Biplane Rides will offer flights in a beautifully restored 1941 Waco UPF-7.  Here are some of the sights you will see when you visit next weekend (visit http://www.airandspacemuseum.org/ for the latest updates):
