Bob Carlton's Super Salto Jet Sailplane Soars Over Fair St. Louis

Bob Carlton has a reputation for launching innovative aviation projects, and at Fair St. Louis he demonstrated his current airshow offering: the jet-powered Super Salto sailplane.  Along with being a real rocket scientist, Carlton has flown many types of aircraft, including helicopters and sailplanes, and has been on the airshow scene for twenty years.  His company, Desert Aerospace, develops jet sailplane and eXtreme Light jet aircraft in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  The Aero Experience visited with Carlton during the week of the Fair St. Louis Airshow, and we are pleased to bring you this photo essay our aero experience:
