Aviation Community Thrives at St. Louis Area Airports

The greater St. Louis area aviation community is showing signs of resurgence at local airports.  The general aviation, business aviation, flight training and air tourism segments are showing significant activity, along with support services such as fuel distribution, aircraft maintenance and food service.  Custodians of local aviation heritage and education are seeing an increase in volunteer membership and visitor patronage.  Local aviation events have taken the place of some traditional airshows, many of which were cancelled due to the sequestration of U.S. military demonstration teams.  Here is a brief look at recent visits to local airports that have found ways to rebound in very difficult economic times:
