Ambassadors From the North: Canadian Forces Snowbirds Perform at Memphis Airshow

By Leo Cachat
By Fred Harl
The Memphis Airshow, held last weekend at Millington Regional Jetport, featured top-tier performers from all over the country, or rather, the continent.  The Canadian Forces Snowbirds Demonstration Team continued their U.S. tour with a stop in Shelby County, Tennessee, and The Aero Experience contributors Fred Harl and Leo Cachat were there to bring the action to you.  It is encouraging to see airshow organizers weathering the absence of U.S. military demonstration teams and producing successful events, with several very fortunate communities experiencing the style and grace of the Canadian Forces Snowbirds.  The Snowbirds practiced their large, precision formations and thrilling apposing solo maneuvers on Friday, and the crews were friendly and accommodating to our requests throughout the day.  Audiences in the Midwest are looking forward to seeing the Snowbirds perform in Columbia, MO and Cape Girardeau, MO next May.  Until then, here are some views of the Snowbirds during last Friday's practice:

Special thanks to the Memphis Airshow staff for assisting The Aero Experience in our coverage of Friday's events.  Also, hello to our new friend Snowbird No.11 Captain Steve MacDonald and the Snowbirds Demonstration crews we met Friday.
