Greenville Airstravaganza Keeps Community In Touch With Aviation, Part 1

By Carmelo Turdo
The Greenville Airstravaganza, a favorite Midwest Aviation fall fly-in, was held October 4 at Greenville Airport in central Illinois.  The event is more than a fly-in - it is a family-friendly, community gathering with fun activities, good food and of course aviation!  Organized by the Greenville Pilots Association and the Greenville Airport Authority, the annual Airstravaganza provides the opportunity for local residents to experience aviation first-hand by visiting with pilots, touring display aircraft, flying a flight simulator and taking helicopter and airplane rides.  Aerial demonstrations by agricultural aircraft and the Texas Twisters, a formation flight team of six Beechcraft T-34 warbird trainers, kept everyone's eyes to the skies.

Thanks to the hospitality of the event staff, The Aero Experience was on hand to bring the excitement to our audience.  Here are some highlights of the day, with more from the Texas Twisters coming in our next edition.
