27th Annual Salute to Veterans Memorial Day Celebration and Airshow Brings International Flavor, Midwest Hospitality to Mid Missouri

By Carmelo Turdo
The Salute to Veterans Memorial Day Weekend Airshow will begin tomorrow at Columbia, Missouri Regional Airport in the heart of the Midwest.  This 27th annual event will feature the Canadian Forces Snowbirds (431st Aerial Demonstration Squadron) for the second year in succession and a new influx of U.S. military aircraft including the U.S. Army Golden Knights, USMC MV-22 Osprey Demonstration, USN Super Hornet Demonstration, and USAF C-17 and A-10 static displays.  A significant collection of warbirds also will be on display, including the B-25 "Show Me" from the MO Commemorative Air Force, a rare PV-2 Harpoon from Warbird Warriors Foundation, and performances by Greg Colyer's T-33 Ace Maker, T-28s from the Trojan Phlyers, and Michael Kennedy's BT-13 Valiant Echoes.  Here is a preview from today's arrivals and orientation performances, with a great aero experience from Ace Maker Greg Colyer flying with the Canadian Forces Snowbirds today.
