EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2015: Boeing Plaza - Warbirds from World War II to the Vietnam War Era

Fred Harl and Carmelo Turdo
http://www.airassociatesmo.com/tae/EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2015 attracted a large number of warbirds representing the World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War eras.  Most were accessible in the Warbirds Area, and the crews were sometimes on hand to visit with attendees.  Some also flew in the airshows, dogfighting and making low passes over the runway.  Some were also put on static display in Boeing Plaza for some portion of the week.  The Aero Experience continues our coverage of Boeing Plaza with a look at the warbirds we encountered (for the bombers, please see the previous post).

World War II warbirds include North American P/F-51 Mustangs "Paul I," "Dakota Kid II/Long Island Kid," and "Tuskegee Airmen."  Also featured were Goodyear (Vought) FG-1D Corsair, General Motors (Grumman) TBM-3E Avenger, Douglas SBD-5 Dauntless, DeHavilland Mk.35 Mosquito, Nakajima A6M2 Zero, Curtiss P-40K Warhawk and Lockheed P-38L Lightning.

Vietnam War Era Warbirds include the McDonnell Douglas QF-4E Phantom II, North American F-100F Super Sabre, Douglas AD-1 Skyraider and Grumman OV-1D Mohawk:
