Week In Midwest Aviation: Midweek + Midwest = Great Fun at The Cape Girardeau Airshow

Last Wednesday was show day at the Cape Girardeau Airshow, and as you have seen in a previous post, The Aero Experience was on hand to report the set up and arrivals coming in throughout the day and the evening performances.  Following the arrival of the Canadian Forces teams on Tuesday, the gaps in the flying and static display schedule were being filled rapidly before the Wednesday evening show time.   
  
Redline Aerobatics arrived first, followed by two A-10's from Whiteman AFB and a nice Twin Beech 18.  We also walked the ramp and found a couple vehicles on display from the National Guard and talked to Dewey Larson of Dream Big Entertainment - his enthusiasm for what he does and for aviation is contagious.  He posed for a few photos by his A-7 cockpit and with the pilots of the A-10s as he set up his display.

As show time approached, the crowds started to arrive early.  This was nice to see for a mid-week show. The show turned out to be a beautiful spectacle, with the sun set putting a nice warm glow on the aircraft as they entered the show from the east. Storm clouds started to build behind us to the north, which made for some really nice photos when aircraft passed them.
