Flags of Valor Posted in Forest Park to Memorialize Military Members Lost in the War on Terror

Nearly 7,000 U.S. flags have been flying in Forest Park in the heart of St. Louis this week to memorialize members of the U.S. military who gave their lives in the War on Terror since September 11, 2001. Attached to each flag pole are "dog tags" identifying each individual represented. Volunteers from Flags of Valor have been on the site of Art Hill in Forest Park since last Monday marking the ground and then posting the flags on Tuesday. Each day since then has featured a remembrance event up to and including this afternoon. The flags will be removed tomorrow, and they can be purchased to raise funds for veterans charities. A number of sponsors have been instrumental in making this great memorial possible, and we encourage everyone to thank them for their support. Here are some views of the display:
