The Aero Experience continues our coverage of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2016, sponsored by Air Associates, with the Lockheed Martin C-5M Super Galaxy on static display in Boeing Centennial Plaza. The massive cargo jet, deployed by the 312th Airlift Squadron (Air Force Reserve) from Travis Air Force Base, CA was available for public exhibit Tuesday through Friday. The Super Galaxy incorporates significant modernization of the original design - uprated GE CF6 engines, modern cockpit avionics, improved cargo management systems - that improve the mission capability, efficiency and reliability of the aircraft. It was a crowd favorite - its size not only providing a natural curiosity but also shelter from both the sun and the rain during the week!
