Bald Eagles Join the Midwest Wintering Birds in St. Louis Area
|
By Carmelo Turdo |
Winter has settled into the Midwest, with a wide variance of temperatures from the cold northern regions to the warmer areas around St. Louis. The bald eagles have arrived, some back to familiar nesting areas and many staying north of St. Louis during the current warm spell. It may take a little more effort to find them, but capturing images of our national symbol is well worth the effort. In order to encourage everyone to get out among nature and look to the skies, we have gone out in recent weeks to look for ourselves.
First featured here are some views of one of three bald eagles perched in Legacy Park, Cottleville, MO (St. Charles County) and a look back on a visit to Clarksville, MO in 2015. A return trip to Clarksville and other river towns is planned for the coming weeks.
