EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2016: Warbirds - Attack Jets

Jet warbirds were a popular part of the EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2016 experience, whether parked in the Warbirds Area or flying in the airshows.  They play an important role in sharing the excitement of military jet flying with more audiences than possible with the current military jets.  They also are used by their civilian (often ex-military) pilots and ground crews to salute the previous generations of military service members using former front-line military aircraft.  The Aero Experience appreciates the time and resources dedicated to providing the jet warbirds for this and other aviation events.

In this edition of our jet warbirds coverage, we present the attack jets - the Cessna A-37 Dragonfly and Douglas A-4 Skyhawk - captured during the airshows and on the apron.  The A-37, actually a T-37C, is painted to represent the 524th Fighter Squadron of the Vietnamese Air Force, and the Warbird Heritage Foundation's A-4B Skyhawk represents VA-76 operating off the USS Bonhomme Richard during the Vietnam War.
