Sightings: U.S. Army Lakota Makes Stop at Farmington Regional Airport

By Fred Harl
This U.S. Army UH-72A Lakota recently visited Farmington, MO Regional Airport on a refueling stop.  The light utility helicopter was equipped with a search light, winch and infrared sensor pod.  Lakotas have equipped National Guard units since 2007, and are deployed to relieve the Blackhawk fleet of some homeland security, search and rescue and general utility missions.  These aircraft were manufactured at the Airbus helicopter plant in Columbus, MS.
