EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2017: Warbirds - Fighters

By Fred Harl
The Aero Experience coverage of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2017 warbirds continues with a look at the fighters that served in World War II and the Korean War: Vought F-4U Corsair, Grumman F-8F Bearcat, North American P-51 Mustang, Bell P-63 King Cobra, Supermarine Spitfire and North American F-86 Sabre. Of note is that the Corsair served with distinction in the Pacific Theater of Operations in World War II, the Korean War, and regional conflicts though the 1960s. Over 12,500 were produced, remaining in production from 1942 to 1952. Also, three Bell P-63 King Cobras in formation is indeed a rare sight!
