EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2018: Vintage Aircraft Survey, Part 1

By Fred Harl
The Aero Experience continues our final series from EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2018 with a survey of vintage aircraft we encountered during the week. We begin at the beginning, with types from Aeronca and Beechcraft. Aeronca produced a generation of practical light aircraft in the 1930s and 1940s, some assuming military roles as liaison aircraft in World War II. Included here are the Champ, Chief and Sedan. Beechcraft is represented by the classic Model 17 "Staggerwing."
