The ski-equipped transport aircraft is from the 109th Airlift Wing, New York ANG, based at Stratton ANGB at Schenectady County Airport. The unit regularly deploys to Greenland and the Polar Ice Cap. The aircraft, Raven Gang, reflects the unit's use of Camp Raven flight and survival training facility on the Greenland Ice Cap. This aircraft has upgraded engines and eight-bladed propellers to improve the performance and efficiency of the H-model workhorse fleet.
