EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2019: Boeing Plaza - Boeing B-17 and B-29 Bombers
The Aero Experience continues our year-round coverage of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2019, sponsored by Elite Aviation, with this look at two Boeing bombers on display in Boeing Plaza. The B-17G Flying Fortress, Yankee Lady, is operated by the Yankee Air Museum at Willow Run Airport, MI. The aircraft was delivered in 1945, too late for theater war service, but had an active post World War II history. The B-29 Superfortress, Doc, is operated by Doc's Friends out of Eisenhower National Airport in Wichita, KS. It is one of two B-29s still flying, and it is an impressive site in the air and on te ground. Both aircraft were on display throughout the week.
