Wings of Hope hosted a plane wash fundraiser Saturday at their Spirit of St. Louis
Airport facility to benefit international humanitarian aviation programs.
Members of the Wings of Hope Young Ambassadors spent much of the day washing a
variety of aircraft, returning them to their owners sparkling clean. Two
aircraft from the STL Aviators Flying Club were among the first of those moving
through the cleaning stations outside of the Wings of Hope hangar.
“Today
we are doing the Wings of Hope Plane Wash,” Tiffany Nelson, Wings of Hope Young
Ambassadors Liaison, told The Aero Experience during our visit. “It’s put on by
the Young Ambassadors, our young professionals organization. All the proceeds
go to our global programs here to provide free medical flights for people in
ten different countries.”
The Young Ambassadors program supports Wings of Hope’s international projects through social, educational and fundraising events. Their mission is to engage, empower and inspire young professionals aged 21-45 to create cross-cultural connections and help address global problems while building awareness of Wings of Hope. Wings of Hope is a global humanitarian non-profit organization, whose mission is to change and save lives through aviation in the U.S. and around the world. Wings of Hope has provided aviation relief services directly and through partnerships in nearly fifty countries.
