New St. Louis Downtown Airport Director Marks First Month With Optimistic Outlook

By Carmelo Turdo
Sandra Shore, the new Director of St. Louis Downtown Airport, recently marked her first month on the job with an optimistic outlook on the future of the airport and the aviation industry. Shore was most recently the Director of Quincy, IL Regional Airport, the 2019 Illinois Primary Airport of the Year, and before that Manager of the Floyd W. Jones Airport in Lebanon, MO. She is a graduate of the SIU-Carbondale Aviation Management Program and holds several AAAE credentials including Airport Accredited Executive. She has a passion for airport development that has a direct positive impact on the community.

The Aero Experience visited with Sandra Shore on March 30 as she passed the one-month mark as Director, and here we feature some photos and the video from our interview. Also included here is Firefighter-Aircraft Rescuer Terry Bowman with Director Shore as seen during our tour of the airport fire station.

The Aero Experience thanks Director Shore for speaking with us at the one-month mark as Director of St. Louis Downtown Airport. We also thank Patti Beck, Senior Director of Media and Public Relations at Bi-State Development, for coordinating the interview.
