47th Annual Business Aviation Association Memorial Open Raises Funds for Aviation Charities

By Carmelo Turdo
The 47th Annual Business Aviation Association Memorial Open Golf Tournament was held at Old Hickory Golf Club in St. Peters on May 22. Golfers assembled at the club for a day of charity golfing to benefit the Geater St. Louis Business Aviation Association Education Foundation and Wings of Hope, the St. Louis-based global humanitarian aviation nonprofit organization. This day of golf was not just about showing off your drive, but more about meeting up with friends for a fun way to ensure the future of the local aviation community.

Golfers began arriving about 9:30 A.M. for registration in the club lobby. GSLBAA and Wings of Hope volunteers were ready to greet them, assign their golf carts and show off the great raffle items donated from area businesses.

Golfers continued to gather over the next hour, some stowing their clubs in the carts while others did some putting on the green near the clubhouse. Lunch was served at 10:30 A.M. followed by the opening ceremony. The National Anthem was sung by Scott Kennebeck, and then it was off to the course. And be sure to get your hand-rolled cigar!

The golfers took to the course on what would be a beautiful spring day. The hole sponsors made the day even better, with refreshments, company swag and great comradery shared among old and new friends. Here we feature some views of the action along with our visits with the hole sponsors throughout the afternoon.

The Aero Experience thanks GSLBAA, Wings of Hope, Old Hickory Golf Club and all of the sponsors and donors who made this event possible. Be sure to step up your game get ready for next year!
