EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2023: Seaplane Base

The Aero Experience continues our coverage of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2023, sponsored by Piston Aviation, with a unique diversion from the main aerial festivities at Wittman Regional Airport. As much of the Midwest is experiencing the onset of winter, we look back on our visit to the serene, warm waterfront at the Seaplane Base. Located on Willow Harbor on nearby Lake Winnebago, the Seaplane Base attracts aircraft large and small that can land on floats or on their hulled fuselage. Regular bus service runs from the main campus to the Seaplane Base, and various groups hold social events there throughout the week. 

Here we include some views of the shoreline camp area and the aircraft operating off the lake. Aircraft from Aeroncas to the mighty Cessna Grand Caravan are featured, along with our friend Mark Palm with the Samaritan Aviation Cessna 206.
