Spirit of St. Louis Airshow: Blue Angels "Fat Albert" Hercules Has a Style and Grace All His Own

The U.S. Navy Blue Angels Flight Demonstration Squadron brought more to the Spirit of St. Louis Airshow than the precision formation flying performances given by the six team members flying the F/A-18C Hornet jet fighters. The team's support aircraft was along as well - a Lockheed KC-130T Hercules transport, affectionately named "Fat Albert," and flown by a U.S. Marine Corps crew. The Hercules brings the ground crews and supplies needed at each show location, and the transport pilots also get into the airshow act. During the Spirit of St. Louis airshow, "Fat Albert" flew several impressive passes in front of the crowd and raised the Stars and Stripes from the top of the aircraft before and after the performance. The Aero Experience team was there this weekend and captured these images of "Fat Albert."
