U.S. Air Force Mustang Supercar X-1 Arrives for Midwest Airport Fun Days

Preparations for Midwest Airport Fun Days continued today with the arrival of the U.S. Air Force Mustang Supercar X-1 at the Greater St. Louis Air & Space Museum ramp.  TSgt Daniel Hopper, from the 345th Recruiting Squadron at nearby Scott AFB, was extremely helpful in arranging for the appearance of the display.  The Mustang was produced by Galpin Auto Sports for the 2009 Super Car Tour recruiting program, and has been going strong ever since.  The custom cockpit and 500hp engine make this a truly unique street machine.  Here are some views of the Mustang as it was displayed today:
