The Aero Experience continues with our coverage of EAA AirVenture 2018 Boeing Plaza displays with this look at two USAF workhorses of recent conflicts: the Fairchild Republic A-10C Thunderbolt II and Rockwell B-1B Lancer. The A-10 retains the D-Day Commemoration event paint scheme that also recognizes the 100 years of service from the 107th Aero Squadron, now the 107th Fighter Squadron of the Michigan ANG. The B-1B, Deadly Intentions, is from the 28th Bomb Squadron based at Dyess AFB, TX, another unit celebrating 100 years of service. The unit provides training in the bomber as well as operational combat deployments.
