EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2019: Vintage Area - Special Displays

The Aero Experience continues our coverage of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2019, sponsored by Elite Aviation, with this survey of aircraft on display in the Vintage Area. Throughout the week, pristine aircraft were placed around the Vintage In Review stage for the daily showcase presentations.

Here we feature the lineup for Monday's Vintage In Review program, which included Jim Savage's Spartan Executive once used by the RAF in the U.S. and Canada to train pilots for service in England prior to formal U.S. involvement in World War II. Also included in the program was the Aeronca Champ flown by Duane Jones in the movie, First Man. Barry and Sandra Payne were also on hand to describe their around the world flight in progress from New Zealand in their Piper Comanche. The program was opened by the lovely and talented Ladies for Liberty. Monday's Vintage In Review can be seen in its entirety in this Vintage EAA video.

Other aircraft on display for Vintage In Review and in the immediate vicinity are shown below as they appeared throughout the week. Included here is Jim Savage's Spartan Executive, the L-26B Aero Commander used by President Dwight Eisenhower and a 1936 Stinson Model A Trimotor from the Mid America Flight Museum being reviewed by EAA judges (it won a Bronze Lindy for transport aircraft).
