Greetings from The Aero Experience Team

Greetings!

The Aero Experience is a celebration of Midwest aviation and aerospace achievement. We invite you to join us as we explore the treasures of Midwest aviation through first-hand experiences. Our contributors take turns flying lead, and we are always looking for new destinations. Check in with The Aero Experience frequently to see where we will land today, and then go out and have your own aero experiences!

Blue skies,

EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2019: Airshows - Vicky Benzing

The Aero Experience continues our coverage of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2019 airshows, sponsored by Elite Aviation, by featuring Vicky Benzing flying her beautiful red Stearman trainer. Based in California, Benzing performs in airshows with her Stearman, but that is just a part of her aviation career. She also holds commercial, airline transport pilot, helicopter, seaplane and glider ratings, and is an avid skydiver and jet racing pilot. She holds a PhD in Physical Chemistry, and worked in the high-technology industry in Silicon Valle. We salute Vicky Benzing as she brings her Stearman airshow to the Midwest.

EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2019: Airshows - Trojan Thunder

The Aero Experience continues our year-round coverage of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2019, sponsored by Elite Aviation, with this look at the premier T-28 formation team, Trojan Thunder. The six team members fly their venerable T-28 trainers in formation and precision solo aerobatics, filling the sky with bold color, smoke and the noise from their radial engines that makes everyone take notice. If some of these  particular aircraft look familiar, it may be because we have photographed them in prior years at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh and other airshows and fly-ins in the Midwest.

EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2019: Airshows - Class of '45 Warbirds

The Aero Experience continues our year-round coverage of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2019, sponsored by Elite Aviation, with this look at two beautiful warbirds flying together in the Saturday airshow. The Class of '45 features Scott Yoak flying the P-51D Mustang Quick Silver and Jim Tobul flying the F-4U-4 Corsair Korean War Hero in formation and solo passes. It is a rare treat to experience the sights and sounds of these classic warbirds as they gracefully fly as one. Here we include several tight formation passes and a solo pass from each prior to landing.
