Piston Aviation Opens Second Location at St. Louis Regional Airport

By Carmelo Turdo
Piston Aviation held the Grand Opening event at their second location, St. Louis Regional Airport, on Saturday, March 30. The new flight training center is located in the previous restaurant space next to the air traffic control tower and across from the F-4 Phantom jet on display in the main parking area. In just over a month since receiving approval from the St. Louis Regional Airport Authority, Piston Aviation has transformed this underutilized space into a beautiful and productive showcase of general aviation growth in the greater St. Louis area. CFIs and fleet aircraft will be available here and at Piston Aviation's Creve Coeur Airport location as needed to meet customer demand.

The Aero Experience coverage begins with the ribbon-cutting ceremony and preview tour on Friday. Airport Director Daniel Adams, accompanied by Bethalto, IL Mayor Gary Bost and members of the Bethalto Chamber of Commerce, cut the ribbon at 1:00 P.M. and toured the facility. We captured the activity on this short video and in the photos below.

Saturday's Grand Opening event was held in typical Piston Aviation style, with food, fun, family and flying - lots of flying! Promotions for the day included flight package discounts and $50 discovery flights. Six aircraft from the Piston Aviation fleet were assembled on the apron, and a full schedule of 48 discovery flights was flown throughout the day. Here we feature some views of the guest arrivals and morning discovery flights.

We will continue our coverage of Piston Aviation's operations at St. Louis Regional Airport in future posts. We thank everyone who produced and attended Saturday's Grand Opening event, and we hope to see you again soon at both Piston Aviation locations!
