EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2013: "Dusty" Makes Appearance in Advance of "Planes" Movie Debut

Fred Harl and Carmelo Turdo
"Dusty," the crop duster turned air racer in Disney's "Planes" 3-D animated feature, made an early appearance at EAA AirVenture 2013 last week.  "Dusty" was on display in the Phillips 66 Plaza and in various places on the grounds, and he flew in several airshows as well.  He flew low and slow, like a true crop duster, for the crowd in order to save his energy for the air race in today's movie debut.  "Dusty" is actually an Air Tractor AT-301, owned and flown by veteran agricultural application pilot Rusty Lindeman, that was upgraded to the turbine AT-400A standard and decked out in the now well-known orange, white and blue paint scheme.  "Dusty" will continue his tour across the U.S. and Canada, promoting the Disney movie "Planes."  As mentioned in a previous post, The Aero Experience recommends the movie for appropriate audiences, and also suggests our audience visit these links:
