The Midwest Fall Fly-In Season is in full swing, and the last weekend in September brought the St. Louis Regional Airport Fly-In and Car Show. St. Louis Regional Airport, located in East Alton (Bethalto), IL, serves the Madison County/Greater Alton area just north of St. Louis. The airport supports about 80,000 operations per year, with over thirty businesses in the nearby industrial park. Runway 11/29 is 8,100 feet by 150 feet, and the crosswind runway 17/35 is 6500 feet long by 100 feet wide. The airport tarmac is large and a great place to host the Fall Fly-In.
Three members of The Aero Experience Team were at St. Louis Regional Airport for portions of the Saturday Fly-In, and we will each share some of our event photos in this three-part series. We wish to thank Airport Manager David Miller and his staff for welcoming us and allowing access to cover the event from various locations. We hope you enjoy our views of the Fly-In and experience it for yourselves next year.
