EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2014 airshows featured several U.S. military aircraft demonstrations, and one was provided by U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Traverse City, MI. A crew from the "Guardians of the Great Lakes" flew an MH-65D Dolphin Short Range Recovery (SRR) Helicopter on a simulated sea rescue mission in front of the afternoon airshow audience. As can be seen in the following sequence, a crewman operated the winch as his partner poses as the rescue victim. The flight crew was "photographer friendly," flying low and slow the whole time. A special The Aero Experience Team thank you to those U.S. Coast Guard rescue teams that are ready to launch at a moment's notice to come to our aid in a maritime emergency.
