EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2016 attracted a wide variety of experimental aircraft, some of which, like the Rutan designs previously featured, can be described as having "strange shapes." Of course the physics of flight still apply to all aircraft, but the appearance of the aircraft show how different shapes can take advantage of the lift and power available for each design.
