The
Aero Experience coverage of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2019, sponsored by Elite Aviation, continues with a look
at the Vintage Aircraft Area and the vintage aircraft we encountered around the
grounds. Our "definition" of vintage aircraft may a bit more
flexible than most, including aircraft originating from the earliest years of
aviation to about the World War II period. We also have some crossover into warbird types when in civilian markings (such as the DC-3/C-47). Some more "modern" types found in the Vintage Area were also included. However you define them, vintage aircraft are aeronautical treasures to be enjoyed for as long as possible. This
introductory post includes some views of the first wet weekend, special presentations and a variety of aircraft seen throughout our visit.
