On Site with The Aero Experience: General Aviation at Creve Coeur Airport and Spirit of St. Louis Airport

By Carmelo Turdo
The Aero Experience began the new year by visiting our sponsors and partners at two airports this week - Creve Coeur Airport and Spirit of St. Louis Airport. After a short holiday break, we are back on the road and in the air producing more content for future stories and videos.

Creve Coeur Airport is home to a unique mix of aircraft and aviation organizations regularly featured on The Aero Experience. Here we include a survey of aircraft parked on the apron and taking to the air, including a pair of Lancair Evolutions, Don Parsons' recently restored Piper Cub, a classic Ercoupe 415C and the departure of a Castle Aviation Cessna Grand Caravan transporting critical medical supplies. We also visited Gateway Flight Training, Piston Aviation and the Army Aviation Heritage Foundation Gateway Chapter. Our day was made with the flyover of a bald eagle!

This week we also visited Wings of Hope, the global humanitarian nonprofit organization headquartered at Spirit of St. Louis Airport. Today we illustrate the maintenance operations in the hangar. Along with the Medical Relief and Air Transport (MAT) Piper Seneca and Navajo aircraft, Wings of Hope maintenance crews also work on the raffle planes and those posted for sale to support the humanitarian aviation mission. Here we feature the MAT Seneca IIIs, original MAT Cessna 206, recently raffled Cessna 172 in final phase of its panel upgrade before delivery, and three planes for sale: Experimental Super Cub, Ercoupe 415C and Piper Seneca II. Join the team who keeps Wings of Hope flying!
