EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2016: Liaison and Utility Aircraft

Fred Harl and Carmelo Turdo
http://www.airassociatesinc.com/The Aero Experience concludes our short series on liaison and utility aircraft with a few more examples of warbird and civilian adapted types viewed at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2016.  These aircraft are typically employed in the liaison and light utility roles, making economical use of aviation where other forms of transportation fall short.  We salute the unsung service of those who keep their eyes on the front lines and the critical personnel and supplies flowing.

EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2015: Warbirds - Cold War Unsung Heroes

Fred Harl and Carmelo Turdo
http://www.airassociatesmo.com/tae/The Aero Experience will wrap up our year-round coverage of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2015, sponsored by Air Associates, with a series covering the many warbird types seen during our ten days on the grounds.  We will present the warbirds in their eras of service, roughly parallel to the major conflicts, including the Cold War, in which they served.  Most of the aircraft were produced during the covered time period and served in some military capacity in combat or non-combat roles, and others were representative of the type but are replicas or civilian equivalents.

This feature will include lesser-known support aircraft from the Cold War period, including the Aero Commander 560/L-26, Cessna 310B/U-3B, Piper PA-18/L-18, PZL-104 Wilga, North American FJ-4B Fury, and Mil Mi-2.
