Vintage Aeroplane Fly-In at Creve Coeur Airport, Part 1 - Overview

Creve Coeur Airport, home of the Historic Aircraft Restoration Museum and many vintage aircraft, hosted their Vintage Aeroplane Fly-In Saturday.  In addition to the vintage aircraft on display and flying throughout the day, other activities included Young Eagles Flights by EAA Chapter 32 and interactive aircraft display from the airport's Army Aviation Heritage Foundation Gateway Chapter featuring an OH-58 helicopter and F-4 Phantom II cockpit.  The museum's Canadian JN-4C Canuck, Travel Air 4000, several Waco biplanes and the only existing St. Louis Cardinal were available on the apron, and the museum was open to the public at no charge.  Several warbirds, including a Douglas Skyraider, Boeing Stearman trainers and Greg Vallero's AT-6F Texan, were also on display and flying throughout the day. 

The Aero Experience was proud to promote and cover the event, and we will post several stories this week bringing the highlights of this great Midwest Aviation event to our audience.  In this first edition, we will give an overview of the day's activities and provide much more coverage in the following posts.  We thank the Creve Coeur Airport staff, the Historic Aircraft Restoration Museum, Stearman Flight, and all who participated for their hospitality.          

27th Annual Salute to Veterans Memorial Day Celebration and Airshow Features Top Civilian and Military Aircraft, Part One: Friday Arrivals

The 27th Annual Salute to Veterans Memorial Day Celebration and Airshow at Columbia, MO Regional Airport honored fallen veterans last weekend by providing a variety of military and formerly military aircraft for public display and airshow performances lasting most of the day.  The Aero Experience Team was at Columbia, Mo Regional Airport Friday-Sunday to bring the highlights to our audience.  

Part One of this series features the sights from Friday, the setup day and airshow given exclusively for military veterans.   Highlights include static display aircraft; arrival of the Curtiss Jenny replica and Missouri Commemorative Air Force B-25 Mitchell and TBM Avenger; and airshow performances by the U.S. Army Golden Knights, U.S. Marine Corps MV-22B Osprey, U.S. Navy F/A-18E Super Hornet, Greg Colyer in the T-33 Ace Maker, Michael Kennedy in the BT-13 Valiant Echoes, and the Canadian Forces Snowbirds.
