The Aero Experience is a celebration of Midwest aviation and aerospace achievement. We invite you to join us as we explore the treasures of Midwest aviation through first-hand experiences. Our contributors take turns flying lead, and we are always looking for new destinations. Check in with The Aero Experience frequently to see where we will land today, and then go out and have your own aero experiences!

Sightings: T-6B Texan IIs Make Stop in St. Louis Area

By Carmelo Turdo
This weekend brought some visitors to the St. Louis area - four T-6B Texan II training aircraft from TAW-5, Whiting Field, Florida.  The wing is undergoing transition from the T-34C Mentor to the T-6B, and new instructors were being trained during this weekend's mission.  The aircraft were briefly accompanied by Greg Vallero in his AT-6F Texan as they taxied in to the Ideal Aviation ramp on the west end of St. Louis Downtown Airport and parked in front of the Greater St. Louis Air & Space Museum.  Here are some views of the Texans, along with some other interesting aircraft on the ramp this afternoon:
