Plane & Pilot Midwest LSA Expo Brings Light Sport Aircraft Market to Mount Vernon Outland Airport

Day three of the Plane & Pilot Midwest LSA Expo, held today at Mount Vernon Outland Airport in central Illinois, offered a variety of aviation activities for visitors of all ages.  The B-25 Mitchell, "MAID in the SHADE," and P-51D Mustang, "Red Nose," delighted the crowds when they took off and flew passengers around the area.  2 Fly Babies, vintage home-built aircraft, arrived together mid-morning, and Light Sport Aircraft and rotorcraft from the major manufacturers were on display throughout the day.  Visiting aircraft lined the ramp, and the smell of lunch cooking at Wilkey's Airport Café wafted throughout the terminal.  Exhibitors displayed their products and gave expert instruction on aircraft construction and maintenance techniques.  The Aero Experience team was on hand to report on the day's activities, and a survey of the day is presented here.  Future posts will focus specific aircraft types.  Here are some views of the day's activities:
