An MH-60S Seahawk was on hand from HSC-2 (Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron Two) "Fleet Angels," the East Coast Fleet Replacement Squadron based in Norfolk, VA. The missions of the squadron include anti-ship warfare and combat search and rescue.
A related aircraft, a U.S. Customs and Border Protection UH-60A Blackhawk, was part of a large contingent of assets on display (most of them in the U.S. government exhibit hangar that will be featured in a future post) that included other aircraft and patrol boats. The aircraft's missions include agent insertion, disaster relief and interdiction of threats over land and water. Along with the flight crew, the K9 handlers and their charges also interacted with visitors. The Aero Experience thanks these helicopter crews for performing their vital role in maintaining our nation's security.
