2015 Owensboro Airshow: Friday Rehearsal Day - Gloomy Weather But Performers Shine
|

The 2015 Owensboro rehearsal show on Friday could have had better weather, but all of the performers flew in the sometimes rainy weather which made for challenging photography. But, if airplanes are flying, The Aero Experience will be shooting. The rehearsal started with a streamer drop by the U.S. Army Screaming Eagles parachute team using Matt Younkin's Twin Beech as the jump plane. Younkin then circled them all the way down with smoke on and made a beautiful low level pass down the river. Performances continued after that with flying by Joe Shetterly, Gene Soucy, Greg Colyer, John Klatt, the RCAF CF-18 Hornet, Matt Younkin, the TBM, Mike Goulian and the USAF Thunderbirds. Each performer had a low ceiling with rain at times, but at no time did it seem to affect any of these great pilots. Here are the shots from the day show. We'll take a look at the night festivities in the next post.
