EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2019: Warbirds - Mitchell, Avenger and Trojan

The Aero Experience returns to our year-round coverage of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2019, sponsored by Elite Aviation, by continuing with the theme of warbirds featured in our previous post: North American B-25 Mitchell, Grumman TBM Avenger and North American T-28 Trojan. The B-25 Mitchell medium bomber of Doolittle Raid fame is always a crowd favorite when on display in the Warbirds Area and while flying in the airshows. Here we feature a solo takeoff from Barbie III, and we will have more flying coverage during our airshow series coming soon. As for the Grumman (GM-produced) TBM Avenger, there is no finer example than this one owned by Brad Deckert, organizer of the annual TBM Reunion in Peru, IL. His Avenger has been featured in numerous stories on The Aero Experience, and is seen here with our friend Mark Schuler in the Warbirds display area. And lastly, we have a nice collection of T-28 Trojans used by the services of the United States and other nations as trainers and light attack/counter-insurgency aircraft. The rumble of the radial engines powering these warbirds can be felt as well as heard!
