EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2014: Views from the Grounds

Fred Harl and Carmelo Turdo
http://www.airassociatesmo.com/tae/EAA AirVenture comes with some totally unique sights around the event grounds that have to be experienced for yourself.  In the mean time, we have selected a few that should be familiar to those who have attended in recent years, and hopefully will arouse the curiosity of those still to visit the nation's premier aviation event.  In addition to the traditional arched sign and memorial bricks, we have included transportation shuttles, eateries, campers with their planes, Model T Ford riders and a couple of the VW Beetles that swarm about the grounds!

American Waco Club Begins Fly-In at Creve Coeur Airport

By Carmelo Turdo
Waco aircraft from around the country are gathering with their locally-based brethren at the home of Midwest antique aircraft restoration, Creve Coeur Airport, for the
American Waco Club 23rd Anniversary Fly-In.  Today's visit to the airport began with a ride in an antique Ford Model T with Jimmy Johnson to see the Wacos already there.  Some were in hangars due to winds and pending rain showers, but several were tied down in the grass: David and Jean Allen's blue with red trim Waco ASO, Richard Ash's white with blue trim Waco UPF-7, and John Ricciotti's one-of-a-kind black and gold Waco S3HD.

Be sure to see The Aero Experience coverage of Saturday's fly-out to Aero Estates Airport in Belleville, IL coming soon!

EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2013: Ford Exhibit Brings Variety of Cars, Thunderbirds Mustang

Fred Harl and Carmelo Turdo
http://www.airassociatesmo.com/tae/Ford Motor Company had a significant presence at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2013.  The main exhibit area contained a wide range of interesting vehicles, including first responders, Ford GTs (produced only in 2005 and 2006), F-150 trucks, Mustangs and more outdoors.  Inside the spacious Ford Pavilion, visitors examined the F-150 cutaway, took rides in Model Ts, listened to Henry Ford (played by Mr. Thomas Mahard) talk about the rise of the Ford Motor Company, and gazed at the USAF Thunderbirds Edition Mustang.  The Ford Pavilion also hosted many of the airshow performers for autograph sessions throughout the week.  Ford also provided entertainment on the main stage, the Fly-In Theater, and a family entertainment area.  Ford staff were also very friendly and helpful to The Aero Experience team throughout our visit.
